Wireless controllers DHCP Proxy - Global mode

Hi guys,

Could someone please explain dhcp proxy mode "GLOBAL".

I find the official guide of dhcp setup for wlcs not very detailed.

Is it true that we should specify interface which should be used only when Global is set. If yes, what happens when you use Global and do not have such interface but you have added two dhcp servers under all wlan interfaces. Is there any menu for Global setup somewhere in the wlc

Enabled is clear - wlc uses the dhcp servers under the interface and forwards unicast dhcp to them.

Disabled - wlc bridges dhcp broadcast so they hit the svi on switch where you have ip helper or dhcp server in same vlan

Thanks.

Milen

Global mode means that the WLC will apply the setting from Controller -> Advanced -> DHCP

The global default is "proxy"
