Hi, Thanks for the video. 1 question. I noticed that after you converted the unit to LWAPP you had the issue where the unit reboots every 30 seconds. This usually confuses most customers so i prefer the upgrade tool method. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html
I think it has something to do with older units that do not have an MIC installed but have an SSC so using the conversion tool method is prefered as it installs the MIC during the conversion. Thus avoiding the rebooting issue detailed here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_tech_note09186a008072d9a1.shtml#cause8
Either way, great video. It always amazes me how many ways of doing things there really is. Thanks,
Thanks for your feedback. Regarding your question, when we performed the conversion in the LAB it worked great and we faced NO issues with unit rebooting. Actually this procedure is used and tested by TAC engineers multiple times . Indeed there are multiple ways to convert the device and you can pick any.
The only thing is for 1100 series AP's this procedure will not work. Here is the link which will help you:-
I have two AIR-LAP1142N-N-K9 to configure this we need controller and i dont have the controller. Please advice me how to make these router up without controller.
I am trying to convert lwap to autonomous AP. please let me know how to configure in TFTP server.
Really the clips is so informative, I had one query regarding the Access Point 1240 AG that when I try to reload the new IOS image to the Access Point, it shows an error. The Led at the Access Point shows Red light at Radio, Green Light at Ethernet and the lights are continously changes at the Status of the Access Point.
One thing more it shows an error while rebooting the AP the not able to initilize the ethernet port.
From this post and other sources I've compiled my procedure to change from LWAPP (Lightweight Mode) to Autonomous Conversion in focused on Aironet 3600 series.

Hiwe have three offices all running with their own 5508's. I plan on replacing those WLC's with newer ones. Is there a design were I can replace they with a pair in our CoLo data center and have all the AP's talk back to them? I used to do this with HREAP...
