Can the Cisco WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point: PoE/Advanced Security Cisco Small Business Access Point use the Cisco Aironet Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ4)?
I know there was a Linksys Business Power Injector, but that was gone with the Cisco take over.
Or should I just use the newer real Cisco IOS based Cisco Aironet 1140 Series Access Point (AIR-AP1041N-A-K9) with the Cisco Aironet Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ4) that will work?
Thanks,
Tim

Hi, My name is Eric Moyers. I am a Network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center.
While it may be posible for those to work. They have not been tested with any of our PoE capable units..
The only thing we can recommend is a PoE switch; but you can get a 802.3af compliant PoE injector but again it's not recommended by Cisco Small business at this time. If you are looking for a inexpensive way to power with PoE.

(The SD208P) is a unmanaged poe switch that is the least expensive PoE device we can recommend for the WAP4410N.

The Cisco SD208P 8-Port 10/100 Switch with PoE: Cisco Small Business Unmanaged Switch is an improper selection to mate with the Cisco RVS4000 4-port Gigabit Security Router – VPN that has 4 - 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and the Cisco WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point: PoE/Advanced Security Cisco Small Business Access Point that has for input 1 – Gigabit Ethernet port – “Gigabit to Gigabit” not exactly R&S CCIE level material.
The Cisco 200 Series Switch SG200-08P is the only solution it seems.
On the other hand, should I just use the newer real Cisco IOS based Cisco Aironet 1140 Series Access Point (AIR-AP1041N-A-K9) with the Cisco Aironet Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ4) that will work. BECAUSE it seems that there IS CONFUSION OVER THE Cisco WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point: PoE/Advanced Security Cisco Small Business Access Point AS HAVING DRAFT 802.11n and COMPLIANT 802.11n DEPENDING ON WHAT PAGE WHAT DOCUMENT YOU ARE ON AT THE CISCO SITE.

Yes sir, The Cisco Aironet 1140 is a very good access point.
It was not stated what router was had when you asked your question and that is why I provided the comparision sheet for you to see. With you knowing what you have in your network, it is easier for you to make a selection. I was just pointing out that the Cisco SD208P 8-Port 10/100 Switch with PoE was the cheapest and that it is unmanaged. Alot of our customers would perfer to have an unmanaged switch, so I pointed that out. At no point did I suggest that you purchase the Cisco SD208P 8-Port 10/100 Switch with PoE.
It may be that you would be more comfortable with the Cisco Enterprise products. The Aironets when used with the Wireless LAN Controllers have more capabilities
Thanks

I am R&S CCNP (let expire) was almost to R&S CCIE but major medical issues with heart, including bypass surgery, and the need to "cool my type A engines" and "stress", the medical folks suggest I not persue at that time due to stress level.
Couldalways go with a 2921 with a controller and the lightweight 1140, and my friend would never figure out how to change it!
Thanks,
Tim

I am a CCNA Wireless who is currently working on his CCNP Wireless. Have not as of yet decided on CCIE.
I hope you continue to follow doctors orders and try to stay "Stress Free". If I can ever be of assistance or answer any other questions. Please let me know.

Major heart attack 12/19/1999, quad bypass 12/31/1999 (yes, Millennium New Year’s Eve Rollover), weight quickly soared to 400 pounds, along with other issues.
Weigh remain at or near 350 pounds until mid-last year, now at 230 pounds, with a lot of assistance from the local VA hospital, as all of this seem to be attributed in some degree to my Naval service and a traumatic even in in 1979, resulting in PTSD/MST.
Thanks,
Tim
