Hello all,
I bought 3 of these access points for our company network. Here's the issue I am having with setting them up. I connected one of them to our network switch, and installed the cisco findit tool. The access point is identified and has the default address. However, because we do not have dhcp active within our network, I cannot access the log in page to change the ip address to a static address. Is there anyway to do this? I tried using the cisco emulator, and that doesn't help either. What to do?

Hi, My name is Eric Moyers. I am a Network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center. Thank you for using the Cisco Community Post Forums.
If the FindIT tool does find the AP you should be able to double click on the AP info and it open up the device.
If not, within the FindIT tool info of your device there should be showing a WAPxxxxxx.local address, try putting that into the browser.
As last resort configure PC to a static 192.168.1.100 IP plug Ethernet from PC directly into AP and then access it that way and make changes.
Thanks

Thanks. I kinda feel silly now. That was pretty easy to set up.
I have another silly question. If the device has a static ip address, will I be able to connect multiple wireless devices?

Yes

Yes, The static IP is just for the WAP321. It will still pass DHCP through to other devices.
Thanks

Okay, our company is set up on a VPN. DHCP is not enabled... so every device has a static address. If I give the device a static address, and plug in the default gateway address, subnet, and DNS, I can get the wireless device to connect, but I cannot access the internet.... any ideas?

Is your Internet coming across the VPN or do you have a VPN to another site but want to have Internet going out your site but not through the VPN? (Split-tunnel)
It may be that you need to configure the devices with information from the other side of the VPN tunnel and not this side or you need to enable some split tunnel configurations.
If the router is a Cisco Small Business router, call into our support center to get support for this, this may be a little more involved than can quickly be solved on the forums. If the router is not from Cisco, you will have to talk to that manufacturer.
Thanks
