SSIDs to VLANs on CBW140 AC

Hello everyone,

I created two WLANs ( one for internal use and the other for guest). Tagged each network to an specific VLAN. I can see both SSIDs being broadcasted, but the issue is that the guest SSID is getting the wrong ip addressing , it getting the ip address from the internal network. I created two DHCP pools. I tried setting up  the switchport as trunk allowing both VLANs (10 for internal and 30 for guest), but it doesn't work. Any guidance will be appreciated.

 Who provides the DHCP? It is the Access Point or the switch?

I followed the instructions, my problem arises when I set the ports that are connected to the APs to trunk. After doing that, the APs don't come back online. I set the native vlan to what is supposed to be and I allowed the two VLANs that I have in my network. If I undo that command, the APs come back online. 

Do you also have a DHCP server in the native VLAN? The APs themselves need IP addresses to work. These must be provided by a DHCP server in the native / untagged VLAN (unless you configured all APs with a static IP configuration).

I am going to try to set them up using an static ip address to see if that makes a difference. 

When doing so, remember that the primary AP needs two IP addresses: One for the AP itself (configured on the "General" tab) and one for the controller (configured on the "Primary AP" tab). Two different IP addresses, same subnet mask.

That is done. Now in order to be able to use multiple WLANs, what else would I need to do? I know I need to use the vlan tagging option and then set up the switchport as a trunk and allow the appropriate VLANs as well as setting the native VLAN.

Do you want the CBW management interface to be a) in the internal VLAN 10 or b) in a dedicated management VLAN?

If a): Disable VLAN tagging on the internal WLAN. Enable VLAN tagging on the guest WLAN and set the VLAN ID to 30. Set the native / untagged VLAN to 10 on both the CBW ("Global AP Configuration") as well as the switch port. Allow the tagged VLAN 30 on the switch port.

If b): Enable VLAN tagging on the internal and guest WLANs and set the VLAN IDs to 10 and 30, respectively. Set the native / untagged VLAN to whatever your management VLAN ID is on both the CBW as well as the switch port. Allow the tagged VLANs 10 and 30 on the switch port.

Everything that's beyond the switch (subnets, routing, DHCP) is not specific to CBW, just your usual multi-VLAN network setup.

Unfortunately that didn't work. As soon as I set the switchport as a trunk the access point go online. Not sure exactly what the issue is...

Which way did you go, a) or b)?

I tried both. I am getting the same issues...

Are you sure you have a CBW issue? Have you confirmed your router & switch setup (VLANs, subnets, routing, DHCP, ...) actually works? Since we don't know what that exactly looks like, it's hard to give advise beyond the scope of the CBW AP and the switch port it's connected to.
