Hello,
For several years I have had two WAP321 in single setup configuration which are operated with plugin power supplies.
After power was lost (main fuse was swithced off because other electrical installations were done) on both devices they do not boot correctly. The power LED turns on. Than the Network LED turns on. After a very short time both turned off and the power LED starts blinking very slowly.
I tried to hardreset the devices. I also tried another power supply. but I am unfortunately not able to get them back running and to enter the configuration page.
Does anybody has a tip for me what I can try/do?
It looks like the devices hanging in a bootloop.
Thanks a lot.

Hi there,
That is correct, the WAPs hang up in a boot loop. Flashing power led means booting/firmware upgrade.
Did you try the following:
To factory default the WAP, with the power on, press-and-hold the Reset button with a bent paperclip for more than 10 seconds.
– All of the lights will go off.
– Release the Reset button when the power light turns on.
If that doesn't help you can call our tech support (TAC) and raise a case for hardware failure. The last day of HW support of the WAP321 is April 30, 2022.
Thanks,
Martin

Hello Martin,
I tried your suggestion. Unfortunetly without success.
The LED turned off when pressing the reset button but they never turn on again. I tried this with both devices and canceled after a few minutes without any LED turned on. After releasing the Reset button the devices continue with the same slow blinking of the Power LED.
So I think I have to call the tech support. Is there still a guarantee for the parts or what exactly does "limited lifetime guarantee" mean?
And if so, is this also valid for Germany?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Thomas

Hello Roman,
You should be entitled to hardware support. The WAP321 comes with Cisco Limited Lifetime Warranty which means Cisco hardware warranty support will be discontinued on the Last Date of Support (LDoS) published in the product End of Life Announcement which is April 30, 2022.
See below:

Here is the link to call TAC (including Germany).

Thanks,
