WAP321 stops responding

HI

I've got a WAP321 access point that seems to only function for around 24-36hrs before not responding, requiring a power cycle to get it operational again. I'm running the latest firmware 1.0.2.3, and have turned off green ethernet (which seemd to extended the uptime). Also saving the config doesn't seem very reliable, sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't. Anyome have any pointers?

thanks

Phil

Hi Phil, as cliche as it may seem, any time upgrading firmware to a device, it should be factory defaulted to avoid any possible code overlap and things of this nature.

There was a bug on a previous firmware release when using specific time zones, the device would reset itself (lose all settings) upon reboot. This problem may or may not be related to you but since there were known problems with such, it is possible you have a lingering effect.

As far as random reboots, dropping. A lot of times it is because of over utilization. Most instances when the devices become unstable it is because of too many connective users. The SB wireless products are designed for 20-30 connective users.

If this doesn't apply to you, I would first default the unit then evaluate things like the power source (poe switch or outlet) and check for connectivity problems wherever the AP is connecting to. These products have been tremendously stable since their inception.

thanks for the reply Tom. I reset back to factory default on the latest firmware and configured from scratch. This seems to have resolved the config save issue. I'll provide an update in a few days as to whether the 'no response' issue is resolved as well.
