WAP4410N connection drop

We have three WAP4410N that loses the connection.

We've updated the firmware, changed the equipment, repeatedly reconfigured,  but the problem persists.

Is used the firmware 2.0.5.3 with WPA2 Enterprise Mixed authentication.

Every day, at least twice drops the connection.

Hello Fausto,

Is your channel set for auto or set to a non-overlap such as 1,6 or 11?

Is the same symptom perceived when using any other authentication such as none-wep-wpa, etc?

How much distance between the AP and connecting client?

If you set the AP to N or G only, is there any improvement?

Is the unit powered via POE or the power adapter?

If powered via POE, how much distance between the switch and the AP? (how long is the cable)

If you move the AP to a completely different physical location, is the same symptom perceived?

After firmware upgrade, did you factory default the unit?

- Both options, in this moment  is auto

- Yes

- Between 5 and 15 meters

If you set the AP to N or G only, is there any improvement?

- In this moment, we are testing with G only

Is the unit powered via POE or the power adapter?

- Power adapter

If powered via POE, how much distance between the switch and the AP? (how long is the cable)

If you move the AP to a completely different physical location, is the same symptom perceived?

- Yes

After firmware upgrade, did you factory default the unit?

- Yes

Hi Fausto,

The next thing to do is gather some data. First thing is, download this free program called INSSIDER;

http://www.metageek.net/support/downloads/

This will do a wireless scan for possible interferences. After downloaded and installed, run the tool then generate a screen shot of all wireless observed. Additionally, you should export a config file and generate a detailed description of where the AP is located such as where it is mounted or placed. What is around the AP. Where are you in relation to the AP and what is around your location.  And lastly, a very basic network diagram.

Once this information is gathered, I'd recommend to call the support center and reference this community post and present the information you've collected. This should make any process very quick and easy for both you and the engineer you speak to.
