WAP4410n Won't power on

Good Afternoon,

I have a WAP4410N that stopped powering on with PoE.  The PoE light comes on but the Power and Ethernet light remain off.  The link light comes on the port on the switch.  I have tried multiple switch ports and tried a different switch.

Has anybody seen this before?

Hi Keith, have you swapped out the wire connecting the AP to the switch? It is also possible the POE module within the AP has failed. This is not unheard of. Try to power the AP with a 12v 1a power adapter. Perhaps it will work this way.

If it is possible to power with the external adapter, try to ugprade the firmware as it could be software related (with any good luck). If it still won't power via POE, you'll need a replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply Tom.  The 12v adapter did not do the trick. I have tried a couple different network cables; all with the same lack of results.

I am guessing that it is a paperweight, right?

Hi Keith, it sounds like a paper weight if an adapter won't make it work as well. You should call the SBSC to see if the unit has warranty for replacement. If you like, you may email me your phone number and I can call you in about 15 mins.
