I am trying to get a 1200 setup as a repeater and have run into a problem, any help would be apprecaited.
I have 3 vlans setup for wireless on site. One for radios/infrastructure, one for valid users with regular logins, and one for guests that just gets them to the internet - they cannot see anything on the regular network.
I am trying to setup a repeater so access can be obtained from the test track back to a radio in the building closest to the track. The radio on the track will be mounted inside a Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The radio in this building does not have the guest vlan setup on it because it is too close to the road.
I tried to set the repeater up with the user vlan, it would associate to a parent, but I could not get client traffic through and I could not ping the radio. I am guessing because the track radio was set to the user vlan, but the building vlan was set to the infrastructure vlan.
Then I set up the repeater on the same vlan as the building, on the radio vlan, and assigned the client a static address in the same range, and it works.
Am I going to have the force the bldg radio, test track repeater and client devices to the same vlan, the radio/infrastructure vlan?
