Is there a way to configure a 1230G AP in bridge mode? Does anyone have an IOS example?

Yes it was introduced in 12.3(7) - actually 12.3(7)JA2. Look for "station-role" command in a config guide.

can the 1130 AG be congifured as a bridge?

I mean a wireless bridge not a workgroup bridge which has lot of limitations.
