1231 its by Default Autonomus or LWAPP

Hi Folks

I Know 1231G its end of sale now,but its by default Autonomus or LWAPP,if its by default Autonomus how can migrate it to LWAPP,in our wireless Network we have WLC 4400

Pls advice

Hi,

The 1231 comes in both flavours.. LWAPP and Autonomous.. If the software Version is W7 then its Autonomous and if W8 then LWAPP.

If you want to convert the AP to LWAPP then follow the below steps..

Downlod the LWAPP image on the TFTP server and make sure you have the connectivity to the server from the AP and then issue the below command..

ap# archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp:///image.tar

Ex-

Assuming 10.0.0.1 is your TFTP server..

ap# archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp://10.0.0.1/c1200-rcvk9w8-tar.123-7.JX9.tar

If its heavy deployment with many 1231 APs.. then the conversion tool is another option..

Nope We cannot.. We can do this by using WCS but not using WLC..

No the WLC only communicates with CAPWAP

or LWAPP APs
