Hi All,
In higher density ap environment, 2.4 ghz with three non-overlapping channels will interference. how to avoid that?

Currently you need to manually go in and either disable or turn some of the 2.4GHz radios into monitor mode.
Once you do that, remember to go back and resurvey to make sure that you still have the coverage requirements you need.

Steve

Here is an example of channel reuse pattern in 2.4. See figure 2.

3 channel design is itself an optimized way of using frequencies wisely, as it gives you non overlapping group of frequencies. However , in highly condensed environment, channel resuse sometimes creates issues. signal of one client becomes noise for other. Therefore, you need to manual select the radios. Please refer to cisco doc for more info

Bottom line is to tweak your power and data rates. I have deployed many schools with one AP or more in each classroom and never turned off an 2.4 ghz radios. That's my opinion:)
