3500 Series Access Points Compatible with 3700 Series?

I have a large facility where Cisco 3500 Series AP's were installed.  The area has some dead spots and needing additional AP's.  As you know 3500's are no longer available.  We are currently using 3700's in other facilities.  My concern is mixing the two when the 3500's do not support 802.11AC and the 3700's do.  Will that cause issues with dropping signal should a user connect to the 3700 then move to an area with only 3500's?  I could disable the 802.11AC on the 3700's but not sure what is the best way to proceed.  There are 158 3500's in that facility so replacing them all is not an option.

Thanks.

Mixing 3500 & 3700 is not a problem.

If it is possible to have an entire building with 3500 instead of mixing then it would do good too.  No need to disable 802.11ac.
