3602I Wont boot

3602I constantly shows a fast blinking green light, watching the boot up I see the following:

Loading "flash:/ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA/ap3g2-k9w8-xx.152-2.JA"...uncompress: Unknown mzip segment type: 2

Error loading "flash:/ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA/ap3g2-k9w8-xx.152-2.JA"

Anyone seen this before or know why it is happening?

Yes.  Your IOS is corrupt.  Is your IOS controller-based or autonomous?

Hmmmm ...

You have two options.  And it all depends on what's loaded on the AP itself.

Console into the AP and issue the command "dir" or "dir flash:" (don't forget the colon or ":").

You will have two directories:  One should be "ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA" and another sub-directory will have the "rcv".

If you see those two, enter this command:   delete flash:/ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA/ap3g2-k9w8-xx.152-2.JA

And then reboot.

If this doesn't work, then do what Scott has posted.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I used leolaohoo suggestions to get this working. In short what I did was:

Log in use dir flash: command. I did see both images.

I then ran delete flash:/ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA/ap3g2-k9w8-xx.152-2.JA (don’t know if this step was needed).

I then ran boot flash:/ap3g2-rcvk9w8-mx/ap3g2-rcvk9w8-mx

Once the image had booted I changed the controller. capwap ap primary-base controllername x.x.x.x.

The AP then connected to the controller and “updated” the image. The controller overwrote the bad image and the AP now works.

I then ran delete flash:/ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA/ap3g2-k9w8-xx.152-2.JA (don’t know if this step was needed).

The AP keeps booting the corrupt IOS.  Because the IOS was corrupt, the instructions didn't make it through and this is why the AP keeps going into ROMmon.

Another method is to force the AP to boot the RCV file but I don't even know if there's an RCV file hence my recommendation for you to delete the corrupt IOS.  By doing so made the AP find the first available IOS, which was the RCV.

At the end of the day, we're happy to see the AP is now operational.

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.

Boot process failed...

After deleted , it boots and loads image file from AP.

ap: delete flash:/ap3g2-k9w8-mx.152-2.JA/ap3g2-k9w8-xx.152-2.JA

As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-

I think the IOS is corrupt. You can use the method to console in the AP and type command "dir" to recieve two options

Then delete the flash and reboot.
