Good morning,
I'm almost entirely certain I've already found my answer but thought I'd get confirmation before telling the boss my findings.
We have an old 5508 controller that's currently running 6.0.199.4.
The AP's we currently have are AP1142N's running 12.4(21a)JA1.
These AP's are all working just fine however a few months prior to me joining this company a handfull of new AP's were purchased.
These AP's are 1702i's running 15.3(3) JD and we simply cannot get them to work with the controller.
After a little reading it looks like the 5508 must be at (or above) 8.0.100.0 for 1702's (8.0.102.0 for 15.3(3) JD)
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks

Hi there,
Table 1: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html#60083
..confirms that support for the 1700 series AP was added in 8.0.100.0
cheers,
Seb.

Thanks!
Exactly what I'd found also.
As I said, just wanted to confirm first since we don't have maintenance on anything and I know the chief won't be happy to hear that they purchased a whole whack of AP's we can't use.

Carefully read the Cisco Security Advisory called "Multiple Vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi Protected Access and Wi-Fi Protected Access II" and scroll down to the "Customers Without Service Contracts" section. Read very, very carefully the first two paragraphs with emphasis on the second paragraph.
Hope this helps.
