Hi,
We have a Cisco 5508 WLC running as a centralised WLC managing around 100 APs registered in flexconnect mode. the current permanent license on this WLC is 105.
There is another 5508 WLC running on evaluation license which was intended to act as secondary WLC for these 100 APs. Due to some reason the permanent license is not there in this second WLC
Can this second WLC be used as a HA pair so that AP failover can happen soon and also no permanent license needs to be purchased. Is there any thing in terms of license/hardware to consider when bringing this setup?

If you are talking about HA SSO, then the secondary WLC must have a minimum of 50 AP license. This is the "fee" for enabling this feature.
5508 End-of-Sale date was 04 May 2018 (ANNOUNCEMENT). This means no vendor can sell adder license for the 5508.
