7921g with PEAP and Microsoft IAS

I am attempting to connect a 7921g through a WLC526 using PEAP and RADIUS on Microsoft IAS. The 7921g will connect successfully if the "verify server certificate" checkbox is not checked, but not if it is checked. I have installed my CA certificate on the phone, but that does not help. How can I get some info from the phone on what detail about the certificate does not verify?

If you have just a single tier CA, where that CA signed the RADIUS root cert, then import the root CA cert into the phone and reboot the phone.

If self-signed cert for the RADIUS then import that into the phone.
