The 7925 is a power save enabled device and when proxy ARP is advertised the phone can go into deep sleep to preserve battery life even more.
Shouldn't see more than a second delay though.
If you see more, maybe you can try to disable radio measurements on the AP. This is listed as CCX location measurement in the global network settings of the Cisco WLAN controller.
