-A and -B regulatory domain help

We've been reviewing some options for our client and are able to get our hands on -A 9120axi wireless access points but some locations these will be installed in will be US based.  I know US runs on -B regulatory domain now, however at some point -A and -B worked for US.  Is there any reason we cant just proceed with purchasing all -A ap's and use them in both US and Canada ?  Does anyone have any experience running -A 9k AP's in US controller solutions?  Why does it work ok in older AP's like 4800 or 3800/2800 being -A or -B ?  Whats the difference?

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

you can config WLC to accept both domain. country-code-021.png

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/8-0/AP_Regulatory_Domain_DG/b_universal_AP_regulatory_domain_DG.html

if the WLC/AP not support regulatory domain then use the universal as doc. above.
Good Luck Friend.

As per the regulatory rules you cannot have -A AP's in US now.

New–B Regulatory Domain for US Theater (cisco.com)

"Recent changes in UnitedStates FCC rules requires shifting products from -A domain to -B domain effective
June 2, 2016. Access Points using -A domain can continue to operate in the US after the June deadline but
all new access points being manufactured or sold after June 2,2016 must be -B domain"

Difference between 2 regulatory domains can be found in the above link.

As far as I am aware, 2800 & 3800 will work in the US with -A & -B regulatory domain.

4800 and all Catalyst 9k are strictly -B for the US.
