Hi,

RTOS is a kernal file. It is mandatory to run the same version of the Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) on all controllers in the same mobility group.

The controller bootloader (ppcboot) stores a copy of the primary (active) image and the backup image. If the primary image is corrupted, you must use the bootloader to boot with the backup image.

The Emergency Image Version has kdump facility enabled to handle kernel panic dump collection.

What you nee dto upgrade:

1. Cisco Wireless Controller (WLC) Field Upgrade Software (FUS) is a special AES package that performs various system-related component upgrades. Cisco recommend that you install the FUS image to upgrade components such as the bootloader, emergency image, FPGA/MCU, and other firmware to their latest respective versions. (FYI: FUS upgrade takes about 40-45 min)

2. After FUS installation you should also upgarde the WLC to latest stable version.

 - show sysinfo , on the controller, will return most of these parameters. Afraid that upgrading requires sufficient knowledge of a CISCO controller and understanding release notes and upgrade procedures (too).
