AC power entry port for outdoor access point 1552E

Hello.

We have installed several outdoor access point (model Cisco 1552E) powered by PoE shielded twisted pair copper. However, it has left the AC power entry port exposed to the environment. There is no provided cap in the box to have cover it.

I have 2 questions:

1.) Do I need to provide cover for this AC power entry port? Aany cisco documentation or aticle that mentions it is ok or not ok to be covered.

2.) Is there a cisco item (or non-cisco) to provide protective cover for this.

Appreciate anybody's insight. Thanks in advance.

When not using the AC input connector to power the 1552E (for example when powering using the Cisco power injector), it is important to cover the AC power entry connector. The correct cap is Remke part number 75-0086 (http://www.remke.com/).
