HI everyone.
I have 41 AP (AIR-CAP702I-E-K9) controlled by a WLC (2504) distributed on 3 different floors. On each floor there are three AP that are not connecting at 1Gbps the auto settings for speed and duplex get them to 100Mbps.
I've troubleshooted the patch panel and patch cords connecting a different AP and I get the 1Gbps so I've discarded issues with cable infrastructure. With the AP connected directly to the switch it remains at 100Mbps. So to me it's something with the AP but I can't understand what.
If anyone has an idea I would appreciate.
Thanks

Can you share the show run of the interface?

Switch side
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/45
switchport trunk native vlan 100
switchport mode trunk
ip arp inspection trust
spanning-tree bpdufilter enable
ip dhcp snooping trust
end
AP side
interface GigabitEthernet0
duplex auto
speed auto
end

and forgot to say that there is no difference on the configuration for the other AP on the switch side nor the AP side

Something is prevent the negociation to take place. For start, I´d take all the config off and let only the :
nterface GigabitEthernet1/0/45
switchport trunk native vlan 100
switchport mode trunk
Just to make sure. Or even, I put it in access also.

I will try it on monday, but I have already connected the AP with the problem on a Port where there was another AP with the correct speed and with the same results (100Mbps)

Thanks for the reply, but I've already checked this thread and it is not a patch cord issue

I have seen this exact behaviour in 3700.
Long-story-short, just RMA the units. Cisco claims the failure-rate is not high enough to warrant a Field Notice.
