Access Point not connecting with 1G ethernet

HI everyone.

I have 41 AP (AIR-CAP702I-E-K9) controlled by a WLC (2504) distributed on 3 different floors. On each floor there are three AP that are not connecting at 1Gbps the auto settings for speed and duplex get them to 100Mbps.

I've troubleshooted the patch panel and patch cords connecting a different AP and I get the 1Gbps so I've discarded issues with cable infrastructure. With the AP connected directly to the switch it remains at 100Mbps. So to me it's something with the AP but I can't understand what.

If anyone has an idea I would appreciate.

Thanks

9 out of 41 it's a reasonable high failure-rate in my opinion

According to Cisco, it is not.

As @Leo Laohoo says probably a hardware issue but also ...

What version of IOS on switch and what version of AireOS on WLC?

Primary Software version:  7.6.120.0

IOS Version. 15.2(4)JB5$

Well you're running a VERY old version of AireOS so literally thousands of bugs have been fixed since that version.

The IOS version you quoted must be what the AP is running (that would be the correct version for 7.6.120.0, which isn't even the last release of 7.6!). I've never heard of a switch running 15.2(4)JB5$ IOS.  But I'm going to assume that whatever IOS the switch is running it's probably also woefully out of date so the inevitable consequence of running exceptionally old, unsupported software is that you are likely to experience bugs which have long since been fixed.

Step number one in solving software related issues - upgrade to a recent supported version of code (on both switch and WLC).  If you still see the problem then it's either hardware or a new bug which TAC can help with.  They won't engage while you're running unsupported software.  Also remember that by running that old code you're exposed to numerous critical security vulnerabilities.
