 Hi all:

Please your urgent explanation for bellow scenario because it's first time to me in wireless field.

I have 4 access points I converted LAP to AAP. all AP's have the same SSID (e.g xyz), and it working fine and there is no any disconnecting when moving from place to anther. my question if I change the SSID for two AP's (e.g xxyyzz) I will get disconnecting during moving from one place to anther? if yes can you help me to explain how can avoid this disconnection, for you info I must change the SSID for two AP's.

please your urgent support because by tomorrow I should close this task.

Hi mahjouboi11,

With different SSID, seamless roam will not occur and thus you will have to keep the SSID name as same for both the places. You can change the interface mapped to the SSID for each place with the help of AP group but the SSID name should be same.

Here is the document which will explain you more about the AP groups:

When a client roams from a WLAN with one service set identifier (SSID) to a WLAN with another SSID, the roam will not be seamless. The Wi-Fi client logic maintains only one Wi-Fi WLAN authentication at a time. WLAN clients may roam based solely on their software capabilities or they may rely on assisted roaming capabilities provided by the WLAN infrastructure APs. In the case of client controlled roaming, the client is responsible to determine if it needs to roam, and then detects, evaluates, and roams to an alternative AP. The software that resides in the client evaluates the quality of the current Wi-Fi connection, and executes the connection and roam logic to join an alternate AP to gain a better quality connection.
