ACI and CCI

Hi there are two APs with the same wlc. When AP1 uses channel 1 and AP2 uses channel 6 or 11 with 2.4. Can we say ACI and CCI do not happen no matter how close the two AP are? Thanks

I would say your statement is correct.  Since you have seperation, these channels are not overlapping so in a test environment, it doesn't impact ACI or CCI.  Now if you have adjacent neighbor RF, then it is a different story.

Thanks Scott. When CCI or ACI happen, the impact on user would be less as two AP distance increase, Is this correct?

Yes if they are on the same channel.  Basically what you are mentioning is that you are making it less noisy, but in environments that require high density, you need ap's closer than further.

There are so much information about both on the Internet, but when you have to deal with ap mounting, where you might not be able to mount or have to mount in specific places, its hard to avoid either.  Compare a large facility where you own wireless and there are no adjacent neighbors, vs a mall, where you might see hundreds of SSID's including hotspots.  Even at home, I see neighbor ap's using overlapping channels on the 2.4GHz band.  Can't fix that.
