Hi Comunity , For the upgrade, I get these options:

which is recommended to enable "AP Image Predownload" or "Enable Hitless Upgrade" or both options?

Regarding install APSP, which "AP Upgrade per Iteration" option is recommended? 5%, 15%, 25% or One-shot? as shown in the image below:

Please your kind support with my queries.

You can backup the C9800-CL in two ways, 1.) take a snapshot of the C9800 OVA, or 2.) backup your current config with 'show running-config' and restore it on a new OVA in case you re-deploy it.

Please read THIS.

Hi @Leo Laohoo

As an additional detail, the WLC 9800-CL is virtualized in a visualization server.

Is the virtualized WLC upgrade procedure the same as a physical WLC?

In the virtualized WLC, what precautions should I take when upgrading?

I have never used the VM version.  So I cannot guarantee the One-Hit-Wonder is applicable (or not).

@Electronic20 yes all procedures and precautions are the same for virtualized WLCs.

If not been told before, I would recommend you to backup the current configuration before upgrading. I suffered an issue when upgrading where the WLC lost almost all static configurations for APs, but I was unable to reproduce it so TAC wasn't able to analyse it.

Thank you @JPavonM ,

In the case of the WLC 9800-CL displayed, would your configuration backup be in an .ova image?
