Hello, I have to connect two buildings (point-to-point connection) with wireless connection. Distance between them is 300-400m
I want to use ap1532e with this antenna: AIR-ANT2413P2M-N.
Q1: Will be this two antennas mentioned bellow enough for distance up to 400m ?
Q2: If you know some different devices, which will be better for this situation, please send me them.
Thank you very much

Could someone help me how to find out, what distance is apropriate, for above mentioned antennas ?
Thanks

basically 400 m is not that much of a distance!
if you enter some random info in the sheet you will see max distance in Miles!!!!
under normal circumstances this setup will do fine.
enivonment like rain etc has much more influence.
the actual devices in the sheet are not very important.
what is important is:
- regulatory domain / country => determines maximum radiated power that is allowed
all AP models neet to comply to this maximum so here old models in the sheet are of little importance
- receiver sensitivity -> this may vary with new technology radio's,
so this is model dependant (but not to a great deal)
- antenna gain -> choose the selected antenna gain nearest to the AIR-ANT2413P2M-N
Peak gain |
13 dBi |
if you select 13.5 dBi Yagi the calculation will do fine
- cable length and quality between access point and antenna
if you keep this directly connected then this is also no real issue

one more addition,
regulations are more limiting than technology.
some regions speak of max (effective) radiated power.
that means when using a high gain antenna, you should LIMIT the power sent out by the accesspoint.
especially when this is over public terrain,
if not, this does not fall under normal Wi-Fi networking and you will need a registration.
