Hi Team,
A long while back I bought an AIR-AP-1252AG from some company that were getting rid of it.
I got into the device but couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.
About 2-3 years went by and I finally had the courage to tackle this problem.
Recently I started working through this and have now gotten stuck.
I have enabled debugging on the AP, configured the AP interface bvi1 int and also my desktop ( i have seen some tutorials that. and they suggested configure int g0, but that didnt work for me, I found something that said it requires to be configured @ the bvi level. Ping works both ways now.
copy tftp: flash:
select ip and filename...
The AP reached out to the TFTP server, I can clearly see the request on the TFTP Server, but I get the following errors when the TFTP tries to send the files (check attached images)
I had a look at the log files of the TFTP server (tftpd64) and it I can see an error TIMEOUT waiting for Ack Block #1
do you guys have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Or need to do?
Kind regards and eagerly waiting your response.

- Try other software (brand) of tftp server (service)

Can you name any that I can use?

- I let the search powers on the Net loose on that one : https://www.netadmintools.com/tftp-servers#wbounce-modal or https://www.comparitech.com/net-admin/best-free-tftp-servers/ . a Linux box may have a native tftp server too.

I tried solar winds and the error it gave me was dropped because peer didn't respond

- Then you need to check , if you have basic connectivity to the tftp server , ping for instance, also when trying , check if transfer-attempt is seen in logs of the solarwinds.

pings work both ways.
I also disabled all firewalls in case traffic was being halted at that level.

- What about the logs on the solarwinds , when a tftp-transfer is attempted ?

I think What I am going to do is record what it is that I am doing, video edit it and present it, perhaps I am doing something wrong!

Not sure what we understand this, can you please elaborate more, is that video not working? or you doing same way it was not working for you ?

In the video you posted, he reloads the router and the AP points at the TFTP server, I paused the video @ 5:16 and the line that reads
default IOS tar image tftp://255.255.255.255/(image name.default),
my AP never does that, it reloads the image from flash when you reset it.
I am a little worried about deleting the image from the AP.
My goal is to force the AP to overwrite the current image it has by forcing it with the command:
#archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp://10.10.10.1/image_name.tar
(obviously image_name.tar isnt the name of the image I am trying to use to overwrite my current image, and the ip isnt the ip I am using, its just an example)
when I run the above command
You can see the incoming request on the TFTP server end, but the image never transfers, it gives an 'ERR' under progress in tftpd64
prior to using the above command, I stopped all firewalls and anti-virus to counter the transfer being stopped at that level. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
