Hi all,
I have ~300 AP's.
Recently, the number of those with constant reboot issues started raising.
After digging into, it seems that the reason is the same.

What is wcpd service used for ?
Do you have any idea what's going on, what can I try to fix wcpd ?
I found numerous bug's related with wcpd, some says It's fixed with version 8.8.100.0 - which 5508 doesnt support as it seems.
Thank you in advance.

- That's a basic and or major showstopper here indeed , many of those bugs are only resolved in versions which the 5508 can not run as per https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-lan-controller-software/200046-tac-recommended-aireos.html
it can only go until https://software.cisco.com/download/specialrelease/9a6a7cf84f9fdf04b95c76e2ac7820e7
The 5508 is also EOL and
You should plan for migrating to the new 9800 based controller solutions , you can for instance already download
the VM based version for free(!) which you can use without licenses for 30 days (useful for testing!)

Thank you @marce1000 ,
I tested upgrade/move to existing 9800 controller and that works, however, then I come to the question of licensing. Existing 5008 has 500ap's license, which I expect can't move.
9800 is smart licensing enabled
Do you know any option available to fix it beside move to newer controller ? Can I wipe AP and download OS again or something (shoot from the hip)
Thanks

- The licensing is not related to the OS on the AP ; however you must always check compatibility info's for
APs when using the 9800 controller + software version used on the controller according to :
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-lan-controller-software/200046-tac-recommended-aireos.html
+ Existing licenses on the 5508 can not be migrated to the 9800 platform (indeed)
; the APs need an AIR-DNA based license for the
9800 , you may want to contact Cisco or a local partner (probably preferred) to get deals on that ,
