I am trying to connect some 1852's to a wireless controller back at our main office, i have tried this via the dhcp option 43 and dns ip address of the controller but cant get either to work.  We use Mikrotik's for the router/dhcp/dns/firewall at the remote sites.  Does anybody have any experience/advice on how i can get the ap's to discover the controller.

the access point and the controller are on different networks, so shouldn't i use the public address of the controller instead?  Do i need to configure option 60 as well?

no you don't need to use Public IP address to join AP to WLC.

1. How these two site are connected ? via VPN or ....

2. How your network looks like.. could you please show us the diagram!!!

we dont have a connection to the vpn we just have a mikrotik there which controls firewall/dns/dhcp and a switch which the cisco access points are connected to.  We have similar setups for other sites using unifi ap's and they connect back to our controller using static dns option, is this possible with cisco?
