Can a AIR-BR1310G-A-K9 AP/Bridge be converted to LWAPP?

Yes it can be converted to LWAPP. 

HOWEVER, if I am not mistaken, in the lightweight mode it will only function as an access point - NOT as a bridge.  At least, that's the chart shown in the 1310 guide I have.

If I am mistaken, please correct me.  I would LOVE to be able to convert all my 1310 autonomous bridges over to a controller-based platform.

Yes, as you mentioned, the aIOS bridges can not work as bridges when these are running LWAPP.

Your future option will be Mesh units . Maybe it works for you. Regards.
