AIR-CAP1532E-x-K9 with one antenna

Hi there,

a customer has AIR-CAP1532E-x-K9 and wants to use one antenna. On the Access Point it is port 1 and 2, when configuring it is left and right and on the controller it is A and B.

Does 1 belong to left and to A or is there any other match?

Thanks

Kurt

Hello schlemmerk,

Thank you for your post. This is a tricky one to explain, and a silly mistake by Cisco for not keeping a matching naming convention. However the great thing about that is the flexibility it gives us on what antennas to use in what ports and for what bands. From memory, on the 1532s, if you have the unit facing you orientated so the Cisco logo is upright and the mounting side is facing away from you, the ports are as you'd expect, in this order.

Configuration: Left to Right.

Physically: 1 to 2.

Controller: A to B.

Long story short, you were correct in saying:

Does 1 belong to left and to A or is there any other match?

I hope that helps, if not please let me know and I'll digress further. The data sheet on the below link should also be able to help you out.

Kind regards,

Luke
