AIR-CAP3702E-E-K9 ==> Acces point / client

Dear,

I would like to use two AIR-CAP3702E-E-K9 WIFI modules in order to perform technical tests on it. One in access point and the other in client / network user. My first question is: It is possible to use an AIR-CAP3702E-E-K9 in client?

In my understanding, to work correctly, the access point has to be connected to a DHCP server on the network. This functionality is not implemented within the module?

Best regards.

Sébastien.

if i understand you correctly , you want to do test with the 3700 APs,

you can run autonomous image on that AP , con configure it as WGB ,

then the AP will connect to other APs as a client ,

regarding the DHCP : the access point can be treated as wired client connected to switch ,

so you can configure it staticly , or you can just plug it to the network and it will obtain ip address,

the AP does not have internal DHCP server , so it can't provide ip to clients ,

hope that answered your questions

Hello,

Many thanks for your answer. Effectively one is an AP and the other a client.

If I well understood, with the WGB mode, the AP has to be connected to a wired netword in order to recover an IP adress or to use a static IP.

After, it is possible to configure QOS, Power... on the AP?

Many thanks for the information.

Have a good day.

Sébastien.

hello Sebastien ,

yes you can configure the power on the AP (Tx power) as desired ,

also the Qos is supported on autonomous APs ,

the Qos configuration is exatly the same as any cisco IOS device,

here is WGB config example :
