hi dear friend
i have a AIR-LAP1142N-e-k9 and i reseted it to factory setting(this way :
Step 1 Disconnect power (the power jack for external power or the Ethernet cable for in-line power) from the access point.
Step 2 Press and hold the MODE button while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 3 Hold the MODE button until the Status LED turns amber (approximately 1 to 2 seconds), and release the button.
Step 4 After the access point reboots, you must reconfigure the access point by using the Web-browser interface or the CLI.)

to default an ap with the mode button, after applying power, you need to hold it down for about 20 seconds until it turns red, then let go
if you're not getting any console output, make sure flow control in the console session is disabled (it matters)
also test the same console connection with another device

Usually AP get 10.0.0.1/8 when it reset to factory default. So if your PC set up on to the same network & directly connected to the AP Ethernet, you should be able to access it.
Refer this as it shows the console output (what you should see) during this reset
