AIR-LAP1252AG-T-K9 : loses snmp config

Rosa Ladeira

Level 1

Using Cisco AIR-WLC2106-K9 controlling many AIR-LAP1252AG-T-K9.

I have configured snmp on an access-point via cli and when I executed the command below:

Ap.25#copy running-config startup-config

Destination filename [startup-config]?

Building configuration...

[OK]

NVRAM Verification Failed

When  access-point is rebooted for any reason snmp configuration is lost.

Is there any way to keep snmp config after a reload?

Thanks

Rosa

that's an error you get when you try to save the config on a AP that needs to be joined to a WLC.

If you have a WLC, you should be using it for all your SNMP queries not the AP.

You cannot configure AP for SNMP, & preserve the config (if AP is managed by a WLC). Every config needs to do via WLC itself if you want to preserve any config after a reload.

In WLC GUI (Management -> SNMP -> Trap Control ) you can select certain AP related SNMP traps where you can enable or disable.

This post would help as well what SNMP configuration you can do on WLC

Regarding MRTG graph prefer if you could do it via AP connected switch level & monitor the interface connected to APs.

Since AP is managed by WLC, you cannot preserve any configuration you do locally on the AP itself. All the time when AP reboots configuration is pushed by WLC.

What SNMP commands you ran on AP ?

snmp-server community xxxxxxx RO

snmp-server enable traps tty

Particularly I want to use snmp to construct a mrtg traffic graphic.
