We are trying to set up some NIC throughput monitoring on the GigabitEthernet interface on our WLCs (8510s and 8540s), all running 8.3 code. My Dev team are saying they can't read the throughput as a pre-requisite for them is for there to be an ifAlias value available but there currently isn't one. If they do an snmp walk they see IF-MIB::ifNames but no ifAlias.
I have been hunting around to try and see how this might be configurable either by CLI or a pack or something but I'm coming up short or only finding switch/router setups. Yes, I've also read the Cisco 'Monitoring Cisco AireOS WLC via SNMP using OIDs' doco as well.
Can anyone assist with ifAlias configuration or information on whether it's even achievable?
