Aironet 1200 and backing up configs

Let me describe what I have tried to do: I have an Aironet 1200 access point configured for service. I access the AP through the web browser interface and download the config to my hard drive. I get another AP with a default config. I attempt to upload the config from my hard drive using TFTP without any success. Can anyone tell me what is going wrong?

You have the config in your root directory of your TFTP server ?

You can ping the AP from the TFTP server ?

The AP has a default gateway configured if the TFTP server is not on the same subnet as the AP ?
