Hi,
The firmware update on a 1200 went wrong so im just trying to get the image back on.
When i boot the device and have it connected by hyperterminal everything looks ok, but its just not reaching the "ap>" prompt no matter what i try.
All that keeps coming up is:
*Mar 1 00:07:18.247: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BVI1, changed state to up
*Mar 1 00:07:19.246: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface BVI1, chan
ged state to up
*Mar 1 00:07:28.127: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface BVI1, changed state to down
*Mar 1 00:07:29.128: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface BVI1, chan
ged state to down
Thats every 20 seconds or so.
I was able to do this process a few months ago, but have completly for got how to do it!!
If i give it a hard restart by holding the mode button - thr "ap>" prompt does show but it just freezes. I am unable to type.
Can anyone offer any guidance?
Thanks
Michael

bypass the hyperterm connection by attaching your laptop or desktop to the ethernet port on the ap and configuring your client for 10.0.0.2/27...if using a default config....or any address in the scope already resident on the BVI1 interface. Thusly, you can telnet at that point. I had this happen to me a few times and didn't have time to troubleshoot. Better to cut to the chase....I'm sure you'll see a cisco caveat in the near future dealing with this.
