Aironet 2701i + WiFi home router

Hello everyone,

I am facing this problem: I need to connect the Cisco AP as autonomous Wi-Fi bridge extender ap. I can’t deactivate my soho ap (Airrus) as its ethernet port linked to the Cisco ap is limited to 100mbps, while the soho ap runs at 250mbps. I want to keep the same ssid. I have configured via console ssid and psw but Cisco seems to do ok for a 1/2h and then goes in conflict with the soho wifi therefore I can’t connect any device to any of the bssid. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you!

In my honest opinion, bridging an autonomous ap to a non Cisco ap doesn’t work well at all. I have tried this in the past with various AP’s, but needed up using  other Ethernet bridges. These did have to be rebooted once in a while also. It’s better to have the ap wired if you can. I wouldn’t waste my time with autonomous bridging, but that’s my opinion.
