Hi all,
New to the forum. Posted in small business wireless not sure if that was the right group so I posting here
I have a Aironet 1602E running IOS Version 15.2(2)JB2
I seem to be having a problem in that the software is up for the port but the hardware is down.
When I hook up the aironet at my desk with a basic switch laptop and power injector the harwware is up and works fine but as soon as I deploy it onto an HP switch the the hardware won't come up, as is evidenced by the Cisco web interface and the lights on the switch.
I have tried two different switches and several different wires, that I know are good, but to no avail.
Is there something I might be missing?
As a side note I have another Aironet that has worked fine. These were both new out of the box.
Regards Dan

Is the HP switch a POE switch ? If so it may not supply the correct amount of power that is required by the AP

I have had the problem on both POE and with POE injectors.
The weird part was it worked with really short wires like under 6ft.
Yesterday I experimented and I believe I found the culprit.
I forced the switch from auto speed negotiation to 100 full duplex and the port came up.
I guess this particular aironet has a deviation from the other two and just can't handle the gigabit.
Does this make sense?
