All wireless APs are running on same channel 161

I am getting below logs in the WLC, and as I checked, all APs are showing channel 161. It maybe because these APs are located near airport and experiencing radar interference.

I have attached a few config screenshots where I deselected DFS channels . But APs are staying on 161 even its not selected.

All APs are connected to the same local WLC 5508 running (SW Version 8.0.121.0).

                     - FYI : https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuz01947

Go for the latest/last release for the 5508 being advertised in https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-lan-controller-software/200046-tac-recommended-aireos.html               ==>  https://software.cisco.com/download/specialrelease/2702eede2b47a5c3bb40795bbe836af6

And check if that can help ,

-- Each morning when I wake up and look into the mirror I always say ' Why am I so brilliant ? '
When the mirror will then always repond to me with ' The only thing that exceeds your brilliance is your beauty! '

The bug you mentioned , states only to check the operational status.
But in my case , the APs are stuck with channel 161. even I did not select DFS channels , only channels 36-40-44-48 are selected.

Then why APs select channel 161. maybe the RRM settings are somehow not active. OR the APs are following any other settings for channel selection?

 - Following your arguments is it important to go for the last/latest supported release anyway on the 5508  because of the fact that the platform is old and being out phased  : any subsequent behavior should (kind of finally) be evaluated against :
                 https://software.cisco.com/download/specialrelease/2702eede2b47a5c3bb40795bbe836af6
Last but not least because  8.0.121.0 is very old

Hello SAL,

The logs you provided indicate that there are issues with setting the channels for the APs due to interference or invalid channel configurations. Since the APs are staying on channel 161, it's possible that they are experiencing radar interference, as you mentioned, which is preventing them from selecting a different channel.

Hard to say without seeing your whole config. Use the Config Analyzer (link below) to check your config.

RF profiles will override the global settings - do you have a RF profile assigned and what's in that RF profile?

@marce1000  's advice to use latest released software version and debug from there is a thing place to start
there may be bugs in your version and it has no point in investigating this old version anymore

-----------------------
if the problem remains after the upgrade you can perform some checks below

I recall these WLC uses different level of settings which can be override at a "lower" level

first there is global level
next you have access point group level
and individual access point level

actual assigned channels can also be limited based on country-codes enabled in the WLC
here also global level and lower levels
and the country code of the access point itself
- the result is the least of allowed channels in a country and enabled channels in the WLC

your screenshot of DCA channels seems to be the global level
-> this can explain the difference in expected and the operational channels
(the global settings are overridden at a lower level)

=> first I'd suggest to check the country code matches that of your access points
and no country code has recently been modified/added accidentally
