I would like to know with androids implementation of wifi P2P where is the devices name broadcasted? I would think its in the initial probe request, however all I see in the probe request is “direct” nothing specific to the device.
After 2 androids connect the group owner starts sending out beacons, in the beacon the ssid includes the specific name of the device.
However it appears that 2 androids know the each others names before any beacons are sent.
