You can check out the following getting started guide for the 2800 series access points.

There is a table of supported external antennas here:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/2800/quick/guide/ap2800iegetstart.html#pgfId-67466

Unfortunately the AIR-ANT2440NV-R does not appear on this table because it does not support dual band.

However, there is a fairly comparable updated antenna which supports dual-band and can be used with the 2800 series AP (AIR-ANT2544V4M-R).

There is no physical way the AIR-ANT2440NV antenna can be attached to a 2802I.

Hello again and thanks for your replay.

So in other words, I can use the antenna . correctly ?  I am not need dual band antenna at this time.

So in other words, I can use the antenna . correctly ?

The AP to the RIGHT is a 2802I.  Notice the surface is smooth?  There is no way to attach an external to a 2802I.

External antennas can be attached to the 2802E (LEFT).

Now, you asked the question about AIR-ANT2440NV.  This particular antenna, in my humble opinion, is NOT compatible with 2802E/3802E.  The antenna has THREE (3) RP-TNC cables and the 2802E/3802E have FOUR (4) RP-TNC sockets.

you have right. I gave you wrong information My AP is the 2802E , so  i can use an external antenna . I make a mistake and I already  bought the antenna . Your opinion is to not to use..... I need just 802.11n do you think that I can use it ?

do you think that I can use it ?

Sorry , You have right , i have to be more specific. My initial question were if the above antenna which I mention in this discus (AIR-ANT2440NV) can be usable with the 2802E. Can cisco 2802E AP  be paired with this antenna (AIR-ANT2440NV) ?Does this antenna could  be operational if I connect it directly to the cisco AP 2802E ? This is my question.

Now about the coverage area , is just a small external flat area with 2 fixed clients 15meters away from the antenna and one mobile user client who is going to moves   around the fixed clients

15 metres away from the AP?  A 2802I is more-than-suitable to cover that distance.

Yes this is true. But I have already purchase the AP & Antenna. I bought these because I would like to be more flexible , in case of grow.

So , the antenna would be operational with the AP 2802E  although the antenna has three (3) RP-TNC cables ?

OK. Thanks for your time
