AP 802.1X Supplicant with which AP modes

Hello Community,

I read the configuration guide for v8.10 and wondering about a contradiction within this guide.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-10/config-guide/b_cg810/ap_connectivity_to_cisco_wlc.html?bookSearch=true#ID836

Under AP Connectivity to Cisco WLC -> AP 802.1X Supplicant it says there the following:

"The feature supports AP in local mode, FlexConnect mode, sniffer mode, and monitor mode. It also supports WLAN in central switching and local switching modes."

Unfortanelly, under the sub point "Restrictions for Authenticating Access Points" it says that trunk ports are not allowed.

"Trunk ports, dynamic ports, or EtherChannel ports are not supported".

How can I use an AP with local switchting with flexconnect without a trunk port?

In my opinion, I can only use the local mode for data transmissions with this guidelinies or is there an other way to use different vlans without trunk port?

Has anyone tested flexconnect with trunk port with the feature AP 802.1X Supplicant?

Would be nice if someone has experience with this.

Regards,

Dominik
