Hello everyone,
i am facing with this issue and i have no idea what is going on.
I had all my AP´s working with the WLC (X.X.100.15), the deployment and configuration of the vWLC was made and everything was fine.
But suddenly some AP´s started the migration to the vWLC(x.x.100.14), we use the option 43 of DHCP to pass the IP of the WLC, nothing was changed, and it is driving me crazy.
Thanks For your help.

This is possible, AP always remember previously known WLCs and can go & register to them.
If you want to control where AP go & register, configure the High Availability (primary, secondary, tertiary) on AP ( WLC GUI, Wireless > select your AP > High Availability > Primary WLC Name & IP)
DHCP option 43 is a way of learning about WLC, does not force AP to go & register only to that WLC.

Hello Rasika,
they are moving by them self from the Old WLC to the new one, cisco says vWLC does not support HA.
They are working in flexconnect mode, but luckily they are working Fine and they maintaine their config.
How can i manually migrate this ap without erasing the config just as they do?

aheredia,
Do the Access Points share a VLAN/Subnet with the new and old WLCs?
vWLC does not support HA with another vWLC but the APs can support multiple WLC IP addresses for a switchover if the primary fails.
If your Access Points join the new WLC they are likely to retain their naming and description but you will need to configure things like FlexConnect Groups / AP Groups again.

Ric,
No they ap´s are on different subnet, there is a way to erase CAPWAP configuration from AP’s cache ?

It's odd they are joining the new one unless they somehow knew of it's IP address via Option43 or previously being joined.. anyway you can clear the config via this command:
clear capwap private-config
or do a show flash: and then delete the private-multiple-fs file and reload

Ric,
there is a way just to clear the
Configured Switch 1 Addr 172.16.100.15 value,
without erasing all the config?

You could try:
debug capwap console cli
no capwap ap controller ip address 172.16.100.15
If you perform the clear capwap private-config the AP will lose it's name and description but it will still retain the flash image it needs to join the WLC. You can then re-enter the name/description once it re-joins the old WLC.

Hello Ric,
i have migrated the ap´s from others subnets, but now 2 ap´s (2600) are on the same subnet and vlan than the 2 wlc´s, the old one it is a 2500 series running 7.4.110.0 version, the other is a vWLC with 8.0.115.0. Version.
i have tried "clear capwap private-config", and "clear all config" from wlc (old one), but this two ap´s still associating with the old one, the dhcp option 43 have the value of the vwlc
I have readed about layer 2 lwapp but the 2600 ap´s are no compatible with this technology.
What could be happening here?

aheredia,
Are the APs sharing the same VLAN/Subnet as the vWLC? They'll discover the WLC through a layer 2 or layer 3 broadcast before using Option 43 and so they'd join whichever WLC responds first.

The ap´s are in flexconnect mode, they are on other cities, first they use option 43.
but luckily they are working Fine and they maintaine their config.
How can i manually migrate this ap without erasing the config just as they do?
I tried changing the option 43 but they still going to the old WLC.

To configure High Availability you have two option like CLI and GUI , Please look in to the below linkf for the HA congiration steps.
