Hi guys!

I have some Access-Point (AP) C9124AXE-ROW in Controlle Cisco C9800-L version 17.6.4.

The problem is that some APs C9124AXE-ROW do not activate the radios interface (5and 2.4 GHz).

The power of the APs is OK 60W.

As far as I know, there is no incompability betwen APs and Controller.

Only one AP C9124AXE-ROW is OK on the controller, other seven not.

The AP country is ok.

Could you help me with this problem?

Thanks!

    - Have an overall checkup of the  C9800-L controller's configuration with the CLI command
show tech wireless and feed the output from that into Wireless Config Analyzer
use the full command as denoted in green , do not use a simple show tech as input for this procedure

 - For APs not yet ok , also checkout : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/217734-connect-and-join-a-row-domain-access-po.html#toc-hId--1631845392
as the country code must be provisioned in the AP Join profile

Connect to the AP CLI and issue the command : show cont dot11Radio 1

show cont dot11Radio 1

   Look at outputs concerning :

Radio Info Summary:

and the below lines should show an assigned country code
   ....
   Carrier set:  <verify output here>

Hi @marce1000

I cheked the country code throug the command "show cont dot11Radio 1" and saw that is equal the join profile.

The strangest thing is that some APs of the same model on the same WLC and same policy succeed in activating the radios and others do not.

A point that identified is on the Antena Parameter "Antena Port Mapping".
In the AP that is OK is 3,4 but in the AP that is NOK is 3,4,1,2.

OK:

NOK:

  - Do you have supported antenna's on those (too) ; check
    https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/9124ax/install-guide/b-hig-9124ax/hardware-features.html#supported_external_antennas

I would also strongly recommend to upgrade the controller software because 17.6.x is very old and also
the first one starting to support -ROW (it would be better now to move on)
                                             Current recommended release is 17.12.3

Upgrade the firmware to 17.12.4.

As the others said above, first step should be to update the software as per TAC recommended - link below.
Agree with Leo to recommend 17.12.4 + SMU + APSP

Also use "show ap tag summ" to make sure the APs all have the same tags correctly assigned.
