EWC became EOS.
I see that there are no replacements
CISCO got rid of the controller to sell it?

Yes,it was sort of inevitable, you still have plenty of time for existing setup before support ends.

It depends on what access points you currently have. If you want to stay Cisco, you can look at getting a 9800 controller or even use a 9800-CL. Eventually its the support of EWC that you have to worry about along with the end of security patches, which is what I go by. I didn't mention any AireOS controllers, because that is already EOS.

All the new APs can be managed from Cloud (Meraki dashboard) if you don't want a controller.
As per the EOS notice:
"For future deployment customers are encouraged to deploy the Cisco Meraki native cloud offerings."
