We have several APs in North and South America to which we're trying to pre-download a new firmware file. Some of them are completing successfully and some keep failing. The thing is that some of these locations have very low bandwidth. I thought this was causing the issue, but there are locations that are completing which that have the same bandwidth as those that are failing. We are upgrading from 8.5.120.4 to 8.10.151.0, and one of the TAC engineers who has tried to help mention bug CSCvm65698. The fix for this bug is to reboot the WLC, so I was trying to leave this as a last resort. Now I'm thinking if its possible to pre-download the new image through TFTP to see if that is successful (https://community.cisco.com/t5/wireless-mobility-documents/how-to-update-access-point-firmware-using-tftp-when-it-is-not/ta-p/3131109). Has anyone run into this issue who can recommend a workaround to these AP pre-downloads failing? Thanks in advance.
