I recently upgraded to 8.2.130.0 on my 5508 WLC. When I run my Ekahau Site Survey tool (8.6.2), I no longer see the names of the APs (AIR-CAP2602E-A-K9). I only see the MAC of the radio on the SSID. I used to see the AP name and it was very easy to identify the APs in the analyzer.
Ekahau's website claims that the feature was disabled on the AP.

Did something change in 8.2.130.0? Is there a way to enable the names to be broadcasted?

On the WLAN, make sure Aironet IE is echecked. The names are sent in the beacons when this is enabled. Maybe after the upgrade, this was unchecked. You should run a diff between the old configuration and the configuration after the upgrade to make sure nothing else has changed.

Aironet IE is NOT checked. I'll have to schedule the change. After I do it, I'll let you know if it resolved the issue.

If your surveying, why not create a new survey test SSID with this enabled. I typically don't leave it enabled in production.
